Points of Sale

New Functionality added 22.04.2025

Suppliers can offer various types of rates under specific sales channels or conditions: mobile-only rates, web-rates, B2B rates, B2C-rates, Closed User Group (CUG) rates, package rates (requiring the hotel to be sold as a package with another travel product such as a flight or a transfer) and more. These allowable sales channels (points of sale) are fixed in supplier contracts.

With Ratefox's enhanced functionality, clients can simply specify the "point of sale" in their Ratefox request, prompting the system to automatically search for optimal rates exclusively within contracts applicable to that specific sales channel. So, if “mobile” point of sale is specified in the request, RateFox will only search and book comparative “mobile” rates. This streamlined approach ensures complete compliance with supplier contract terms while maximizing cost efficiency.

How to use

Available points of sale can only be set up by Ratefox Support on behalf of a client. So the client should:

  • Initially don't use "PointOfSale" parameter in Ratefox request or use it with empty value: "PointOfSale": "";
  • Send Ratefox Support a list of points of sale they want to be configured on their RateFox account and specify which contracts provide rates for which point of sale;
  • When it is set up on Ratefox side the client can send agreed points of sale in Ratefox request (Eg.: "PointOfSale": "web").

There are no predefined values for points of sale, but we recommend using short, clear names such as "web", "mobile", or "b2b".

NOTE:

If unagreed point of sale is sent in Ratefox request, an error will be returned:
