Timeout Setting
Overview
HSP enables configuration of the maximum timeout in seconds, setting the upper limit for how long the HSP system will wait to suppliers before returning results.
- Suppliers that will not respond within the max allowed timeout, their search results will be ignored.
- If the field is left blank, the value will be taken from the main Nodes (under "Client Settings" --> "B2B Search Timeout").
Configuration
- Login into the Back-Office .
- Navigate to the wanted user and click "User settings" .
- The following screen will open :
- Search timeout (sec) - Determines the maximum allowed timeout in seconds for receiving HotelSearch response.
For Example : If the timeout is 10 seconds , and the supplier returns response after 11 second - it will be ignored. - Get details timeout (sec) - Determines the maximum allowed timeout in seconds for receiving GetPackages response.
- Dynamic timeout (%) - Allows terminating the search prior to the defined timeout in case sufficient suppliers returned results.
This configuration allows reducing the user’s waiting time for the search results.
Use this field to define the sufficient percentage of suppliers that returned responses (out of those for which requests were sent) in order to terminate the search prior to the defined timeout.
Once sufficient suppliers returned their search responses, the system will terminate the search even if the defined timeout has not yet been reached.
For Example :- The Search timeout (sec) is set to 30.
- The Dynamic timeout (%) is set to 50
- A search request was sent to 20 suppliers
- 10 suppliers returned results after 17 seconds
The system will terminate the search and display the results although there are additional 13 seconds until the defined timeout is reached. Results from the 10 remaining supplier that did not yet respond will be ignored. - If the field is left blank, the value set in the Search timeout (sec) field will be used.
