Room Naming Conventions
We believe that the individual hotel is the owner of the rooms, and they are the only ones who know the different benefits of the different rooms they offer. Therefore the Gimmonix room names will always aim to reflect what the individual hotel sells. We don't guarantee the room names will be identical, but the product will always aim to be as close as possible.
We map all of the sources to a unique Gimmonix room id and room name. As a customer of the service you may use the Gimmonix room names. You can also use different names (for example translate into a different language, different naming convention, etc), however if you add attributes not included in the original Gimmonix name this will be at your own risk.
One of possibly the most critical elements in room mapping is to keep the key sales value elements featured by the individual hotel. Here is an example of running a hotel query and retrieving results based on accurate room target names.
Special Names
One of the more unique capabilities of the Room Mapping API is the ability not only to maintain the key selling value propositions of each rooms but also to recognize, capture and maintain the special names an hotel may have as shown in the example below with room name attributes such as Prestige Club or Select View
The rooms images and associated room names were taken directly form the hotel's website based on the following hotel query:
- Hotel: The Venetian Resort Las Vegas
- Requirement: Double occupancy as per the hotel website as of 2nd January 2022
The above set of images for Venetian Resort Las Vegas Hotel shows that while the room names are not exactly identical, the main room attributes and unique marketing identifies that the hotel offers are offered as well by the Room Mapping API output.
